Foundations of the Sexual Self
Knowing the Sexual Self
Before learning how to educate or support others around sexuality, it is important to understand your own sexual self.
Foundations of the Sexual Self is an introductory sexology course that invites participants to examine how personal experiences, relationships, culture, family, beliefs, and social expectations have shaped the way they understand sexuality.
Through guided learning and reflection, participants explore sexual self-concept, erotic templates, desire, boundaries, relationships, intimacy, pleasure, and fantasies. The course provides a structured way to develop greater awareness of your own sexual values, patterns, preferences, and experiences.
For professionals who work with sexuality, this self-awareness is particularly important. Understanding your own assumptions, values, and responses can help you approach conversations about sexuality with greater reflection and professional responsibility.
